Job Description
The Alternative Asset Opportunities practice group is seeking an experienced associate, with 3 ? 6 years of legal experience, advising on bespoke and complex transactions across alternative asset classes, including private equity, credit, real estate, venture capital, and infrastructure. This role involves representing sophisticated institutional investors globally, including sovereign wealth funds, secondary buyers, and asset managers.
Duties/Responsibilities
As an associate, you will be responsible for advising clients on complex transactions involving alternative asset classes, including:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transactional documents such as purchase agreements, partnership agreements, and financing documents;
- Conducting due diligence and risk assessment for various transactions to identify potential legal issues and provide solutions;
- Providing legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters related to alternative assets;
- Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, including tax, regulatory, and litigation experts, to deliver comprehensive legal solutions;
- Representing clients in negotiations, ensuring their interests are effectively communicated and protected;
- Assisting clients in structuring and executing secondary market transactions including navigating cross-border transactions and understanding international legal implications;
- Advising on fund formation and structuring for private equity and venture capital funds;
- Staying current with industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes affecting alternative assets;
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication and service delivery;
- Mentoring and supervising junior attorneys and providing guidance in support of their professional development;
- Participating in business development activities, including client presentations and networking events; and
- Preparing and presenting legal opinions and memoranda on complex legal issues related to alternative assets.
Required Skills/Abilities
Qualified candidates will have 3 ? 6 years of legal experience in alternative asset transactions and strong knowledge of private equity, credit, real estate, venture capital and infrastructure. Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction applying for, will be required.
