Associate Attorney - Labor & Employment

The Chicago office of Amundsen Davis is seeking a mid-level associate in its well-established and growing management-side Labor and Employment practice. Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in employment law counseling and compliance. Relevant experience includes preparation of employment policies and agreements and employee handbooks, counseling on employee relations issues such as discipline and termination, accommodation requests, and leaves of absence, and conducting workplace investigations. Experience with counseling and compliance for multi-state employers is preferred. Experience in anti-harassment and other employment training experience is a plus. Ideal candidates will also have knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., wage and hour, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws). Experience handling certain aspects of litigation such as interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, drafting pleadings and various motions and briefs, conducting and defending depositions, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, and attending court appearances is preferred, but not required. Candidates must possess strong academic credentials and have excellent communication and writing skills. Juris Doctorate degree required. Admission to practice law in Illinois is mandatory.
