Associate Attorney

The Fort Lauderdale Office of Wicker Smith O?Hara McCoy & Ford, P.A is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2 to 8 years of experience to join our dynamic litigation team. This position will focus on general liability and professional liability matters, providing a unique opportunity to handle complex cases in a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and motions
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers
• Develop litigation strategies and work closely with senior attorneys and partners

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• 2 to 8 years of experience in general liability and/or professional liability defense
• Active license/ In good standing to practice law
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
