$18.00 per hour

Overview:
The Gables of Fitchburg is seeking a reliable, friendly, and safety-conscious individual to serve as our Resident Van Driver. This individual will be responsible for safely transporting residents to and from scheduled outings, such as grocery store trips and entertainment events. The ideal candidate is dependable, personable, and enjoys working with older adults.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a 12-seat passenger van in accordance with all traffic laws and facility policies.
• Provide scheduled transportation to the supermarket on Mondays through Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
• Drive residents to other planned outings and events, scheduled in advance and posted monthly.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle as needed, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
• Maintain a clean and well-kept van interior and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Communicate effectively with the Activities Director and other team members to confirm schedules and resident attendance.
• Maintain an accurate log of trips, mileage, and passenger attendance.

Schedule:

• Consistent Weekly Trips:
• Transportation to Doctors' Appointments, Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Transportation to Market Basket Wednesday, 8:00 AM 1:00 PM
• Additional Hours:
  As needed for planned monthly activities (schedule posted in advance).

Requirements

Requirements:

• Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Prior experience driving passenger vans or working with seniors preferred.
• Ability to interact warmly and respectfully with elderly residents and their families.
• Punctual, flexible, and dependable with strong communication skills.
• Physically able to assist residents and manage occasional lifting (e.g., walkers, groceries).
