The Assistant Relationship Manager is responsible for managing the overall relationships of the branch and may step in for the Relationship Manager in their absence. Supports efforts to deepen member relationships by contributing to sales and member satisfaction by offering the appropriate solutions to meet member needs. The Assistant Relationship Manager is responsible for maintaining branch operational tasks and minimize operational losses. Contributes to the implementation of promotional campaigns and product initiatives at the branch level.

  • Responsible for sales goals, audit results and member experience for the branch. Grow new and existing relationships by cross-selling appropriate solutions to meet member goals and maintain acceptable service levels. Assist members and employees in any function in the branch and complete all assigned tasks.
  • Maintains control of operations and audit procedures in the branch to minimize risk and losses. Maintain the audit binder and ensure all required audits are completed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Hires, schedules, supervises, coaches, and motivates branch staff to meet or exceed set goals and service standards. Exercises authority concerning staffing.
  • Communicates with credit union leadership and offers strategic feedback and recommendations to help grow market share for the branch in the community.
  • Assist members and employees in any function in the branch and complete all tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Experience:

Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours or work experience equivalent to a two-year college degree.

Interpersonal Skills:

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. Other Skills:

Must be able to think and plan strategically while acting tactically to meet goals.Must be able to identify problems, recommend enhancements, implement solutions, and deliver measurable business results in a fast-track environment.Must have thorough knowledge of credit union products and services.Must have solid computer skills and the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to credit union leadership.Must have strong verbal, written, analytical and human relations skills.Must be flexible and knowledgeable to work any function for the branch.

Physical Requirements:

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements:

Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic financial calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
