Job Description

Job Title: Criminal Prosecutor * Pauls Valley ? Garvin County

Location: District Attorney?s Office Garvin County Courthouse, 201 West Grant Pauls Valley OK 73075

FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt

Salary: $60,000 plus full state benefits

Key Responsibilities

Review incoming law enforcement reports to determine viability of filing criminal charges
Evaluate assigned cases for prosecutorial merit and possible plea negotiations
Research and write legal motions
File appropriate written motions when needed
Competently, expeditiously and professionally handle all assigned court appearances
Prepare cases for trial
Assist other law enforcement agencies
Continually develop, maintain and improve all skills necessary to perform daily prosecutorial duties

Required Skills

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
Admitted to and in good standing with Oklahoma Bar Association
Experience is not required, but prior prosecution experience preferred.
