Job Description

Cosgrave Vergeer Kester LLP has an immediate opening for an experienced appellate attorney to support our busy civil-litigation practice. In addition to providing traditional appellate services, the primary responsibilities of the position also include analyzing complex legal issues, consulting on litigation strategy, drafting and arguing motions, preparing trial submissions (including trial memoranda, jury instructions, motions in limine, verdict forms, and motions for directed verdict), drafting and arguing post-trial motions (including motions for new trial and JNOV), and participating in trial to ensure that a proper trial court record is made and that specific issues are properly preserved for appeal. Our billable hour expectation for fulltime associates is 1,700, but this particular position is a flexible one. We are open to filling it with a part-time or fulltime employee or with a contract (?of counsel?) attorney.
