Accounting Specialist

PLUS Communications is looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. The Accounting Specialist will be mainly responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable (Invoicing) and other finance and accounting activities including weekly reports, account reconciliations, monthly and/or year-end close process. This position is open to recent college graduates, particularly December 2024 graduates with relevant internships.

Specifically, the Accounting Specialist will be responsible for:

• Processing of accounts receivable and/or accounts payable transactions which includes daily and monthly client/vendor invoicing
• Maintaining strong communications and trusted relationships with client leads within the company
• Performing account reconciliations and identifying any discrepancies or risk early
• Maintaining records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
• Handling sensitive information in a confidential manner

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at a minimum relevant internships; ideally 1-2 years of experience in a full-time Accounting role
• Thorough understanding of accounting concepts and Journal Entries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Exceptional time management, precise attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Proven experience successfully working under pressure to manage tight deadlines while juggling multiple requests and changing priorities
• Possess superior oral and written communication skills and ability to work with a variety of people at all levels of the company
• Ability to understand and suggest improvements to current accounting, expense reporting, and timekeeping systems
