We need a hard-working vendor manager to help our company make good purchasing decisions. Your job will involve making sure vendors follow our company policies, attending meetings, and telling new vendors what they need to do. You may also need to end contracts with vendors if they don't do a good job.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining relationships with vendors approved by our company
  • Meeting with potential vendors to learn about their products and services, negotiate prices, and address any concerns
  • Researching different vendors to find the best prices and quality
  • Keeping track of sales trends to determine popular products
  • Creating programs to select the best vendors
  • Interviewing new vendors and informing them of their responsibilities
  • Setting standards to evaluate the performance of approved vendors
  • Evaluating current vendor management programs and finding ways to improve them

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, marketing, business administration, or a related field
  • Previous experience as a vendor manager
  • A valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel for work
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Strong negotiation, management, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
