We are looking for a friendly and organized unit clerk to join our team. As a unit clerk, you will be responsible for managing the phone desk, entering patient information, keeping records up to date, scheduling appointments, and ordering supplies.

To do this job well, you should make sure the medical unit runs smoothly, follow health rules, and keep patient information private. A great unit clerk keeps records organized and stays calm in stressful situations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greeting and helping patients and visitors.
  • Answering and directing phone calls.
  • Scheduling appointments and managing patient admissions and discharges.
  • Entering patient information into the computer and making backups.
  • Moving patient information from nurses' records to patient records.
  • Referring questions to nurses and doctors.
  • Following rules and reporting changes that need to be made.
  • Checking supplies, ordering more when needed, and making sure they are received.
  • Keeping the unit clean and safe by following infection-control rules.
  • Reporting orders from the doctor about patients' food and medicine needs.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Knowing medical words well.
  • Speaking nicely and clearly on the phone.
  • Understanding how an office works and what equipment is used.
  • Being good at managing time and staying organized.
