Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Scheduling transportation services, planning routes, and assigning drivers.
- Developing and implementing improved transportation administration policies and procedures.
- Processing shipping documents, such as bills of lading.
- Managing budgets, processing purchase orders and payments.
- Monitoring drivers' logbook entries and handling payroll administration.
- Liaising between managers and drivers, and collaborating with other departments to optimize transportation services.
- Planning routes, creating schedules, and tracking and reporting progress on orders.
- Handling customer inquiries and escalating serious complaints to management.
- Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in transportation management, project management, logistics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience as a transportation administrator in a similar industry.
- Advanced proficiency in transportation management or logistics software.
- Extensive experience processing shipping documents, orders, and payments.
- Solid understanding of transportation industry regulations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
