Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the main teacher to keep track of the class schedule.
- Help teachers get ready for lessons by getting materials and setting up equipment.
- Go over lesson material with students one-on-one or in small groups.
- Make sure the classroom is clean and safe.
- Watch over students during times when they are not in class, like between classes, lunchtime, and field trips.
- Work with the main teacher to figure out problems students might be having and suggest solutions.
- Keep track of how students are doing and talk to parents to keep them updated.
- Assist the main teacher in making lesson plans.
- Follow rules and regulations set by the state, school, and class.
- Attend trainings, meetings with parents, and meetings with other teachers.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
- Good understanding of teaching best practices and classroom activities.
- Must be kind and have a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
