Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented security administrator to take charge of our desktop, mobile, and network security. Your main responsibilities will include troubleshooting network access, implementing security protocols and procedures, and ensuring the overall security of our organization. You will work independently but within established procedures to maintain network security and prevent unauthorized access, modifications, or destruction. Other tasks may include conducting risk assessments, audits, and staff training sessions, as well as monitoring network activity.
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent technical and information security skills, as well as a keen eye for detail. You should also be able to draft security policies and train less technical employees to be more security conscious.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, administer, and troubleshoot network security solutions
- Keep software up-to-date with the latest security patches and ensure proper defenses are in place for all network resources
- Conduct vulnerability and penetration tests, identify and defend against threats, and develop disaster recovery plans
- Configure security systems, analyze security requirements, and suggest improvements
- Monitor network traffic for any suspicious activity
- Create network policies and authorization roles to prevent unauthorized access, modifications, or destruction
- Consult with staff, managers, and executives on best security practices and provide technical advice
- Configure and support security tools such as firewalls and anti-virus software
- Train staff on security protocols and how to use them effectively
Requirements and Qualifications
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security, or a related field
- Advanced training certifications may be beneficial
- A strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems
- Excellent teaching, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
