Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helping ill, elderly, or disabled clients by providing them with assistance, companionship, and comfort.
  • Administering prescribed medications and monitoring clients' vital signs.
  • Evaluating clients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
  • Arranging for professional help when needed.
  • Engaging clients in appropriate activities, like socializing, playing games, or reading aloud.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably certified as a home health aide (CHHA).
  • Completed state-approved training and certified in CPR and first aid.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a respite worker.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Extensive experience in supervising and assisting clients, as well as engaging them in appropriate activities.
  • Ability to monitor clients' conditions and give them prescribed medications.
  • Able to perform basic household tasks, prepare meals, and run errands.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a caring demeanor, and physical fitness.
