A recreation specialist is someone who plans and coordinates fun activities for individuals or groups at a community center or private club.
Job Description
We are looking for an organized and creative recreation specialist to plan and organize activities for people of all ages. This person will find instructors for various activities and schedule when and where the classes will take place.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ask people in the community what kinds of activities they would be interested in.
- Find people who can teach these activities.
- Schedule classes and make sure everyone knows when and where they are happening.
- Reserve spaces for the activities to take place.
- Listen to feedback and suggestions from community members to make activities even better.
- Collect any money that may be needed for the activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience with event planning or administration.
- Strong organization skills.
- Basic first aid training.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Good computer skills.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks.
- A passion for helping the community.
