We are seeking a detail-oriented property inspector to inspect residential properties. In this role, you will assess properties for compliance with construction regulations, examine the structural integrity of buildings, and document your findings in reports.
To be successful as a property inspector, you should have extensive knowledge of construction regulations and ideally have prior experience in a similar position. A great property inspector is able to accurately identify noncompliance with regulations and potential safety hazards.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Visit residential properties to conduct thorough compliance inspections.
- Identify safety hazards and structural defects both inside and outside of properties.
- Inspect structural integrity, water quality, and electrical and plumbing systems.
- Communicate with realtors, homeowners, or potential buyers to coordinate necessary repairs and improvements.
- Provide regular updates on inspection progress to clients or other stakeholders.
- Deliver detailed inspection reports to clients in a timely manner.
- Document processes and maintain accurate records.
- Stay up-to-date on construction regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Certificate or bachelor's degree in building inspection technology, construction engineering, or a related field.
- State-approved licensure and certification.
- At least 2 years of experience as a property inspector or in a similar role.
