Job Description
We are looking for an energetic picker to help us prepare orders for shipping. Your main tasks will include using requisitions and order sheets to pick a variety of items, placing them in containers and bins according to specific instructions, and arranging the containers on pallets. You will also need to check for any damage or errors in the selection process, operate a forklift, and maintain equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting physical inventories and reporting any quality issues.
To be successful in this position, you will need to be very accurate and detail-oriented. We are looking for candidates who are responsible, organized, and can work well under pressure.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Keeping work areas clean and organized.
- Packing incoming stock, taking inventory, and reporting any shortages.
- Keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Picking orders as directed by management.
- Sealing and labeling containers, double-checking orders for accuracy, and signing off on pick tickets.
- Ensuring shipping information is correct and moving completed orders to the shipping area.
- Placing containers on pallets and securing them with stretch wrap, shrink wrap, or strapping.
- Loading and unloading trucks using totes, jacks, or forklifts.
- Following all safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
- Assisting in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of people.
- Proficiency with required tools and equipment.
- Physically fit and able to perform tasks quickly and accurately.
