To do well as a media analyst, you should know a lot about advertising and keep up with new ways of marketing through media. You should also be good at analyzing information and choosing the most important parts to help make a media campaign successful.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Track how a product or service is talked about in print, social media, and on TV or the radio.
- Use tools like surveys, focus groups, and interviews to collect information about a media campaign.
- Analyze press releases and media coverage to see how well a media campaign is working.
- Show the marketing and business leaders of a company your findings about the media campaign every month.
- Talk to reporters and journalists to get positive attention for a product or service.
- Work with clients to check how well their media campaign is doing and give advice on how to make it better.
- Enter important information about marketing and media into a database for clients.
- Stay updated on new advertising trends, the media industry, and other companies in the same field or industry.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A college degree in marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience as a media analyst at a marketing company, media company, or similar organization.
- Advanced knowledge of media analytics and social media networking.
- A strong interest in the media industry and how it works.
- A portfolio of past media campaigns you have worked on.
- The ability to work well under pressure and handle stressful situations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Great communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
