We are looking for a legal assistant with excellent research and administrative skills. The ideal candidate can work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful, a legal assistant should be able to multitask, have good intuition, and be a strong communicator. They should also have a keen interest in providing accurate and helpful support to lawyers and legal teams. Top candidates will have a deep understanding of legal concepts, be highly organized, have strong IT skills, and pay close attention to detail.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research legal cases and gather important information
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations in legal documents
  • Draft and review contracts, leases, licenses, policies, and other legal documents
  • Stay updated on new laws, regulations, court decisions, and other relevant information
  • Assist with case preparation, including writing opening and closing arguments and helping with court motions or pleadings
  • Keep organized records, both electronically and physically
  • Analyze and summarize documents
  • Help manage and prioritize workload
  • Find and interview witnesses
  • Handle general administrative tasks like answering correspondence and taking phone calls

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law or a paralegal certification (required)
  • Two years of experience in legal research
  • Two years of experience in drafting legal and business documents
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret legal documents
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal research sites like Lexis-Nexis, PACER, and Westlaw
