Job Description

We are seeking a hard-working and experienced lead line cook to oversee all food preparation activities and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The lead line cook will assist the head cook with entr?e preparation, advise line cooks on portion sizes, and ensure proper food storage. They will also provide training and attend mandatory meetings.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have knowledge of various cooking techniques and a passion for food. They should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables, and marinating meats.
  • Prepare soups, salads, and sauces according to instructions from the head cook.
  • Plate and garnish meals as directed by the head cook.
  • Supervise line cooks to ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Maintain stock of necessary ingredients and cooking equipment at all cooking stations.
  • Clean and disinfect cooking stations and kitchen surfaces before and after each shift.
  • Follow food rotation practices to minimize waste and prevent contamination.
  • Inspect food supplies to ensure they meet restaurant standards.

Requirements and Qualifications
