We are seeking a hard-working kitchen helper to help keep the kitchen clean, stocked, and maintained, as well as assist with meal preparation. Your responsibilities will include getting ingredients from the refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom, measuring ingredients as directed by the cook, and clearing plates, bowls, and glasses from customers. You should also make sure that all work areas are properly sanitized.

To be successful as a kitchen helper, you should know how to handle food properly and remove expired or spoiled ingredients from storage areas. Ultimately, an excellent kitchen helper should follow all food safety regulations and have strong organizational skills to complete tasks on time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing meal ingredients for the cook by washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing ingredients.
  • Assisting kitchen staff with unloading food supplies from delivery trucks.
  • Thoroughly washing and drying all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments, and cutting boards.
  • Properly storing all utensils, cooking instruments, dishes, and cutting boards in their designated places.
  • Packing take-out orders when needed.
  • Taking out the garbage, replacing garbage bags, and cleaning garbage cans.
  • Mopping and sweeping the kitchen areas as necessary.
  • Storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen.
