Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated grant writer to join our organization. As a grant writer, you will be responsible for creating well-written, organized, and persuasive grant proposals. Your knowledge of fundraising methods and strategies will be crucial in helping us meet our income goals. You will also collaborate with team members to assist with other fundraising efforts and build relationships with key stakeholders.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Show commitment to our organization's mission.
  • Maintain a good understanding of our organization's history and programs.
  • Assist with the execution of our development department's strategy.
  • Identify potential grant funding opportunities.
  • Write, submit, and manage grant proposals.
  • Provide necessary documents to potential funders.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Development to send newsletters and promote on-site tours to funders.
  • Work with the Director of Development to compile an annual report.
  • Maintain records in both hard copies and computer databases.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in creative writing or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in grant writing.
  • Proficient in setting and reaching income goals.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising sources.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
