Job Description
We are looking for a hard-working Floor Tech to join our team at the hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping all floor areas clean and ensuring they meet sanitation standards. This includes cleaning carpets, removing spots, and disposing of trash and hazardous waste. You will use various equipment, such as floor sweepers and buffers, and wear protective gear when working with chemicals.
To be successful in this role, you must prioritize the safety of patients and visitors by keeping floors free from harmful microorganisms and being aware of potential slip and fall hazards. Ideal candidates are motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle interruptions while working.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean offices, hallways, common areas, and other designated areas
- Move furniture before and after cleaning
- Dust, mop, strip, and wax floors
- Measure and use chemicals correctly
- Operate chemical dispensing units
- Label chemicals correctly
- Clean, maintain, and store equipment and protective gear
- Keep track of floor areas and schedule cleaning and maintenance duties
- Report any maintenance issues to supervisor
- Assist with hazardous waste collection as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in floor maintenance preferred
- Must pass a drug test
- Complete on-the-job training
