Job Description
We are looking for a dump truck driver who is dedicated and responsible to transport materials to construction sites. As a dump truck driver, you will use the controls inside the truck to unload materials, supervise the loading process, and inspect the truck for any mechanical issues before and after each trip. You must also be able to safely drive and operate the truck in any weather.
To be successful as a dump truck driver, you should be able to follow a schedule for picking up and delivering materials. You must also follow all safety rules set by the company and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Transporting materials like crushed rock, sand, and gravel to and from specific locations.
- Ensuring the materials being transported do not exceed weight restrictions.
- Making sure the materials are loaded correctly onto the truck.
- Greasing the dump truck after every 5,000 miles.
- Inspecting the truck before and after each trip, including checking the oil, gas, water levels, lights, and tires.
- Reporting any accidents, injuries, or mechanical issues to management immediately.
- Performing regular maintenance to keep the truck in good working condition.
- Keeping accurate driver logs.
- Following all safety rules and regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
