We are looking for an organized person to work as a credentialing coordinator and help us with keeping track of our healthcare professionals' information. This person will make sure that all the information is correct and up-to-date. They will also help answer phone calls from health plan providers and customers.
To do well in this job, you should make sure that all the information is correct and up-to-date. We prefer to hire people who are dependable, energetic, and good at talking to people.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Process applications for new and renewed credentials.
- Check to make sure that applicants meet all the requirements.
- Get information from different sources, like the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) and the applicant's malpractice insurance company.
- Check for any mistakes or missing information and follow up to fix them.
- Present applications to the group that decides who gets credentials.
- Help people who have questions about getting credentials.
- Answer questions from health plan providers.
- Put important information into computer databases.
- Make sure that all the information is safely saved.
- Follow all the rules and laws for credentialing.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience doing credentialing for a hospital or medical staff.
- Certification from NAMSS as a Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS).
- Knowledge of how to do credentialing and make sure people are qualified.
- Good at talking and writing.
- Know how to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Can type quickly and accurately.
- Can focus for a long time.
