A computer teacher, also known as a computer science teacher or computer instructor, teaches theoretical and practical lessons on computer functionality. They can work in primary or secondary schools.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic computer teacher who can teach our students about computers. As a computer teacher, you will create and present lessons, develop teaching materials, and attend parent-teacher conferences. You will also be responsible for keeping the equipment in good working condition.

To be successful in this role, you should be flexible and supportive as you help students build confidence in their computer skills. A great computer teacher will also be aware of the economic factors that may limit access to technology and make an effort to help students who have little or no experience with computers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan lessons and activities that help students learn basic and advanced computer skills
  • Instruct in a way that builds students' confidence in their abilities
  • Manage the classroom and make sure students are engaged
  • Grade projects, quizzes, and exams
  • Track and communicate students' progress
  • Ensure the computer lab is clean and free of food and drinks
  • Keep software updated and maintain hardware
  • Attend meetings with parents and other teachers

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
  • Teaching certification for the level you will be teaching
  • Prior experience as a computer teacher
  • Reliable transportation (preferred)
  • First aid training (advantageous)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong written and organizational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable teaching approach
  • Passionate about teaching computer literacy and promoting academic excellence
