We are looking for an organized and energetic banquet manager to provide our customers with an exceptional banquet experience. In this role, you will work with the banquet sales director and head chef to meet customer expectations. Your tasks will include managing costs and quality, preparing the venue, and coordinating meal service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Discussing sales contracts with the banquet sales director and head chef
  • Planning the venue layout based on the number of guests and type of event
  • Determining the number of wait staff and servers needed
  • Supervising the setup of tables, chairs, and other equipment
  • Consulting with the head chef about meal timing
  • Overseeing guest seating, meal service, and table clearing
  • Managing beverage availability when needed
  • Creating work schedules and completing necessary paperwork
  • Addressing customer questions and accommodating special requests

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in catering, culinary arts, hospitality, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or culinary arts preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in banquet management or a similar role
  • Proficiency in catering management software, such as Better Cater and Caterease
  • Excellent planning, budgeting, and time management skills
  • Experience in managing banquet venue staff
  • Ability to work collaboratively with banquet sales directors and head chefs
  • Thorough knowledge of catering equipment and venue requirements
  • Familiarity with best practices in the hospitality industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
