Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented banquet captain to manage all banquet events for our company. As the banquet captain, your main responsibilities will include creating staff schedules, ensuring the smooth operation of banquets, and prioritizing the comfort and safety of our guests.

To be successful in this role, you will need strong leadership skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. You should also be able to stay calm under pressure and have excellent time management and organizational abilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests and helping them find their seats
  • Assisting with event planning and logistics
  • Scheduling and managing staff shifts
  • Providing training for staff, including customer service and serving etiquette
  • Setting up for events
  • Coordinating food and beverage service with the kitchen and service staff
  • Keeping track of supplies and equipment
  • Attending to guests' requests, questions, and complaints
  • Keeping the venue clean and tidy
  • Ensuring safety regulations are followed

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in hospitality or a related field preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience as a banquet captain or similar role
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, even in stressful situations
  • Physical fitness for tasks such as moving furniture and standing for long periods of time
