Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic assistant site manager to join our construction team. As an assistant site manager, you will report to the site manager and be responsible for negotiating contracts with subcontractors, meeting project deadlines, and communicating important instructions to the construction team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor labor, material, and equipment budgets to control costs.
  • Supervise construction work on site and communicate instructions from senior project managers.
  • Report any concerns that could affect projected costs and timelines.
  • Hire materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Create work schedules and plan the order of tasks on site.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders involved in the construction project.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience assisting site managers with construction projects.
  • Excellent ability to manage construction project budgets and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in keeping records and using electronic project management systems like Buildertrend and Procore.
  • Experience giving detailed instructions to construction teams on site.
  • Strong negotiation skills to hire cost-effective subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ability to work closely with other stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Extensive experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in the construction industry.
