Design Engineer

222 is looking for a design engineer who is equal parts designer and engineersomeone who thrives at the intersection of UI/UX design, mobile development, and front-end engineering. As an early full-time hire , you'll take the lead on shaping the look, feel, and functionality of the product across platforms, spearheading everything from iOS development to web and Android.

Requirements

• You have experience designing and building consumer-facing applications with a focus on beautiful, intuitive user interfaces.
• You are proficient in Figma for product design (please include a design portfolio with your application).
• You have strong experience as an iOS engineer with Swift and UIKit, as well as an interest in expanding into web and Android development.
• You have experience writing and shipping front-end web & iOS code in an Agile Software Lifecycle, including React and Swift .
• You can demonstrate that you have the ability to create outside of work or school, showcasing your passion for buildingwhether it's through apps, art, music, or other projects.
• A strong stance on ethics and user psychology in the context of social products.
• Previous experience launching an iOS application currently on the App Store.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with product-led growth work , including creating viral features, referral systems, or growth loops in a consumer app.
• Basic backend development experience.

• You lack a strong interest in both design and engineering or have no experience working with tools like Figma .
• You?ve focused exclusively on one platform (e.g., only iOS development) and are unwilling to expand into web or Android development.
• You have no history of shipping front-end code or building complete, user-facing applications.
• You are not passionate about creating beautiful, intuitive consumer products.
• You don?t have experience with Swift and UIKit or have never launched an iOS app.
• You're uncomfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment where responsibilities are varied and evolving.
• You don?t care about the broader ethical and societal implications of social technology.

• Leading all things front-end, iOS engineering, mobile development, UI/UX, and product design .
• Designing and developing scalable, user-friendly experiences for iOS, web, and Android.
• Collaborating across design, engineering, and product teams to bring 222's vision to life.
• Creating growth and referral systems to drive user acquisition and retention.
• Contributing to the ethical development of a platform designed to enrich human connections.

• iOS/Mobile Development: Swift, React Native, Android Development.
• Design: Figma, UI/UX Product Design.
• Front-End Web Development: React/Next.js
